ROOM ASSIGNMENTS: July 2026 Landscape Architects Licensure Exam (LALE)

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) releases the room assignments for the July 2026 Landscape Architects Licensure Exam (LALE) a few days before the examination.

The Landscape Architects Licensure Exam (LALE) will be conducted on July 8, 9 & 10, 2026.

Things to Bring Examination day

Here are the things to bring during the examination proper:

Notice of Admission
Official Receipt
One (1) piece of metered-stamped window mailing envelope
Two (2) or more pencils (NO. 2)
Ball pens (black ink only)
One (1) piece long brown envelope
One (1) piece long transparent/plastic envelope (for keeping your valuables and other allowed items)

Examinees shall report before 6:30 in the morning on the said date because latecomers will not be admitted.

Dress Code on Examination Day

Here are the specified dress codes from PRC:

For male examinees, tucked-in white polo shirt with collar (without any seal, logo, or mark); decent pants or slacks
For female examinees, tucked-in white blouse or shirt with collar (without any seal, logo, or mark); decent pants or slacks

Prohibited Items Inside the Exam Rooms:

Books, notes, review materials, and other printed materials containing coded information or formulas
Calculators which are programmable or with embedded functions, especially CASIO FX991ES and CASIO FX-991ES plus
Apple, Samsung and other smart watches, cellular phones, ear plugs, transmitters, portable computers, Bluetooth and other electronic devices which may be used for communication purposes;
Bags of any kind (place your documents inside the transparent/plastic envelope)
Other examination aides not stated in this program

All personal belongings of the examinees shall be surrendered to the proctor and shall be placed in a secured space within the examination room.

The rules on the conduct of bodily search, an inspection of personal belongings of the examinees, and the seizure/confiscation of prohibited items during the licensure exam (Annex A of PRC Memorandum Order No. 57, s. 2020) shall be strictly observed.

Exam Coverage

The July 2026 Landscape Architects Licensure Exam (LALE) will cover the following topics:

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN AND PLANNING (40%)
Creative application of the functional, orderly and aesthetic solutions to a given landscape architectural problem involving the analysis, planning, design and
development of natural scenery and various land areas and spaces towards attaining a desirable environment including well-related and conforming land uses and sitestructure relationships
LANDSCAPE TECHNOLOGY AND MATERIALS (20%)
Application of the various technological knowledge that goes into the development of land areas such as site grading and surfacing irrigation and drainage, lighting and other outdoor utilities and fixtures and the various materials, whether natural or man-made, used therein, expressed in graphic design, working drawings and specification
HISTORY AND THEORY OF LANDSCAPE (10%)
Developmental history of landscape of landscape architecture; geography; and its relevance and importance to civilization and society. Application of the principles of good design composition expressed in vision dynamics in environmental premises
PLANTING DESIGN AND INTERIOR PLANTSCAPING (12%)
The functional, ecological, economic and aesthetic applications of plants and plant materials, their documentary representations for design purposes; the design relationships of landscape architecture and building interiors and the applications of plant materials to the design of the interiors
ECOLOGY AND NATURE CONSERVATION (10%)
Understanding of the ecosystem, i.e. the characteristics and symbiotic relationships of the natural elements, of animals and plants, of man and nature. The study of the protection conservation and rehabilitation of the natural scenery and environment
PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE AND ETHICS (8%)
Knowledge in office and project procedures and management; preparation of specifications, estimates, contracts and other pertinent documents; and knowledge of the various laws and codes governing the practice of the profession, responsibilities to society, relationships with clients, fellow landscape architects, architects, allied professionals, contractors, material dealers, aspirants to the profession and other parties involved.
