The August 2025 Mechanical Engineers Licensure Exam (MELE) will be conducted in the following testing centers nationwide: NCR, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Palawan, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, and Zamboanga.

This year’s 2nd batch of MELE will be conducted on August 9, 10 & 11, 2025.

General Instructions 

1. Check or verify your school/building assignments at the PRC official website (www.prc.gov.ph) or through the Notices/Announcements to be posted at the PRC premises two (2) or three (3) working days before the examination. Bring your Notice of Admission when you verify your school/building assignment. Visit your school/building assignment prior to the day of the examination.

2. Report to the school/building assignment before 5:30 a.m. on the first (1st) day of examination to verify your room and seat number. Be punctual. Late examinees will not be admitted.

3. Examinees are required to wear the following attire every examination day:

  • Male Examinees – white polo shirt with collar (without any sea logo or mark), decent pants or slacks
  • Female Examinees – white blouse or shirts with collar (without any seal, logo or mark), decent pants, slacks or skirt, pony-tailed long hair

4. Bring the following on the examination day:

  1. Notice of Admission
  2. Official Receipt
  3. Two (2) or more pencils (No. 2)
  4. Ball pens with BLACK ink only
  5. One (1) piece long brown envelope
  6. One (1) piece long transparent/non-colored plastic envelope (for keeping your valuables and other allowed items)
  7. NON-PROGRAMMABLE CALCULATOR. (PLEASE REFER TO COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1809 (S. 2024) OR THE “UPDATED LIST OF NON-PROGRAMMABLE CALCULATORS ALLOWED TO BE USED IN THE LICENSURE EXAMINATIONS”)

NOTE: ONLY ONE CALCULATOR SHALL BE ALLOWED INSIDE THE EXAMINATION ROOM. ALL CALCULATORS SHALL BE INSPECTED AND HAVE TO BE RESET BEFORE THE START OF THE EXAMINATION.

5. The following items are strictly PROHIBITED inside the examination premises/rooms:

  1. Books, notes, review materials, and other printed materials containing coded data/information/formula;
  2. Programmable calculators or calculators that can automatically carry out a sequence of operations under control of a stored program, much like a computer and/or with audio visual features, and/or capable of external communication or internet connectivity, specifically CASIO FX991ES and CASIO FX-991ES plus;
  3. CELLULAR PHONES, EARPLUGS, TRANSMITTERS, PORTABLE COMPUTERS, SMART WATCHES, BLUETOOTH AND OTHER ELECTRONIC GADGETS/DEVICES WHICH MAY STORE OR RETRIEVE DATA/INFORMATION AND/OR TO COMMUNICATE FOR WHATEVER PURPOSES
  4. Bags of any kind (ladies bag, shoulder bags, attaché case, backpacks, etc.); and
  5. Other examination aids not stated on this program.

NOTE: The rules on the conduct of bodily search, inspection of personal belongings of the examinees, and the seizure/confiscation of prohibited items during the licensure exam (Annex A of PRC Memorandum Order No. 57, s. 2020) shall be strictly observed

6. Examinees and examination personnel are encouraged to observe the minimum health standards per DOH Circular No. 0324 (s. 2023)1 throughout the conduct of the examination.

7. Read carefully and follow the instructions on your NOTICE OF ADMISSION.

NOTE: PERSONAL BELONGINGS BROUGHT BY AN EXAMINEE SHALL BE FOR HIS/HER OWN ACCOUNT. THE PRC WILL NOT BE ANSWERABLE FOR ANY SUCH ITEM OR PERSONAL BELONGING THAT MIGHT BE LOST DURING THE EXAM WITHOUT FAULT OR NEGLIGENCE ON ITS PART.

Things to Bring Examination Day

Here are the things to bring during the examination proper:

  • Notice of Admission
  • Official Receipt
  • One (1) piece of metered-stamped window mailing envelope
  • Two (2) or more pencils (NO. 2)
  • Ball pens (black ink only)
  • One (1) piece long brown envelope
  • One (1) piece long transparent/plastic envelope (for keeping your valuables and other allowed items)

Dress Code on Examination Day

Here are the specified dress codes from PRC:

  • For male examinees, tucked-in white polo shirt with collar (without any seal, logo, or mark); decent pants or slacks
  • For female examinees, tucked-in white blouse or shirt with collar (without any seal, logo, or mark); decent pants or slacks

Prohibited Items Inside the Exam Rooms:

  • Books, notes, review materials, and other printed materials containing coded information or formulas
  • Calculators which are programmable or with embedded functions, especially CASIO FX991ES and CASIO FX-991ES plus
  • Apple, Samsung and other smart watches, cellular phones, ear plugs, transmitters, portable computers, Bluetooth and other electronic devices which may be used for communication purposes;
  • Bags of any kind (place your documents inside the transparent/plastic envelope)
  • Other examination aides not stated in this program

All personal belongings of the examinees shall be surrendered to the proctor and shall be placed in a secured space within the examination room.

The rules on the conduct of bodily search, an inspection of personal belongings of the examinees, and the seizure/confiscation of prohibited items during the licensure exam (Annex A of PRC Memorandum Order No. 57, s. 2020) shall be strictly observed.

  • Mathematics (35%)
  • Machine Design, Materials and Shop Practice (30%)
