Preparing for the Bar Exam

Preparing for the Bar Exam can be a challenging and stressful process. Many law graduates opt to enroll in bar review centers to supplement their law school education. These centers provide intensive review classes, mock bar exams, and other resources to help prepare students for the actual exam.

Aside from enrolling in a review center, it is essential to develop a study plan and schedule to ensure that all subjects are adequately covered. It is also essential to prioritize physical and mental health by getting enough rest, exercise, and nutrition.

Taking the Bar Exam

On the day of the exam, test-takers are required to arrive early at the testing site and bring their admission ticket, valid ID, and other required materials. The exam is usually held in one of the largest universities in the country, and security is tight to prevent cheating.

The exam consists of essay questions and multiple-choice questions. Test-takers are advised to read the instructions carefully and manage their time wisely. After the exam, test-takers are not allowed to discuss the exam questions or answers with anyone, as it is considered a violation of the rules.

After the Bar Exam

After the exam, test-takers must wait for the results to be released, which usually happens around April or May of the following year. The passing rate varies every year, with some years having a higher percentage of passers than others.

If a test-taker passes the Bar Exam, they must take the Lawyer’s Oath and register with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines to be able to practice law. If a test-taker fails the Bar Exam, they can opt to take it again in the following year.
